Fixed Guards
This category includes simple barriers that are affixed permanently to a machine to act as a shield to prevent contact with body parts, or to prevent the spray of chips, sparks, and other debris. Fixed guards are not dependent on moving parts to function, and are typically constructed of a material that is substantial enough to withstand whatever impact it receives during the fabricating process. Fixed guards can be constructed of sheet metal, bars, wire cloth, plastic or mesh screens, and can be suitable to high production, repetitive operations.
